The Fellowship committee announces the Church-Wide Western Maryland Scenic Railroad Trip on a steam locomotive on Saturday, October 21, in Cumberland, Maryland from 11:30 to 3:00. The train ride includes narration and scenery while you journey up the mountain to Frostburg and time for lunch and shopping in Frostburg. There will be opportunities to see the Thrasher Carriage Museum, to tour the C & O Canal Visitors Center, and to take a walking bridge across Wills Creek to George Washington’s headquarters.
There was over 35 people went on the Fellowship Committee’s Western Maryland train ride from Cumberland to Frostburg on Saturday, October 21, on a train pulled by a genuine coal-fired steam locomotive. Mary was one of them and was able to snap this picture while going around a bend in the tracks. Isn’t it a beautiful day!
Here are the details:
10:45 - 11 am we arrive in Cumberland
11:30 am train leaves
12:30 pm train arrives in Frostburg
the group will lunch in town on our own
1:45 - 2 pm board train
2 pm train leaves
3 pm arrive back in Cumberland.
