First Baptist Church, September 17, 2006: Hot Dog, Hamburger and Ball games

Today at Saturday Sep 17, I started on getting ready in going to the church picnic in Arlington called The Fun Places Beautiful Spaces Northern Viginia Regional Park Authority. Yes it said it all. The Pool, mine pot pot gulf court. Bating cage. Play ground for the little kids.

I just got out of my apt when my mother started to call. We talk until I found that I forgotten my cake in the frege in the apt. Don't worry I didn't miss the bus.

I got to Ballston Metro Station and I fealt some of the rain droop falling down on my fase. I'm glade it didn't do anything yeal. I got off the bus at North Arlington Mill Dr. and Wilson Blvd and found that it was not the place. I found one of the church memeber was pulling in the parking lot in found it was just up the road from were we are.

All I had to do was roll out a table cloth out and that it.

Every body slowly come on in. They was cooking the hambuger and hot dogs. The park had many wonderful event's

Upton Hill Regional Park offers visitors a wooded oasis in the heart of the most densely populated area of Northern Virginia. A urban park, which straddles the boundary line between Arlington and Fairfax counties. The deluxe miniature golf course boasts one of the longest mini golf holes in the world and the batting cages include baseball and softball cages.

After taking more picture and talking with other church memeber and hearing some of there story in life. They started to talk about the church train trip and many other even't coming this October of 06.

Me and Al started to go to Kennedy Center 22ned Annual Open House. Same day between 12-7pm. Me and Amy started to walk up the stairs wail Al finding a parking space. They was giving out free samples of Starbuck's Punken Spice Coffee Frappuccino and the ice coffee punken spice drink. I like it.

We started to walk in to see some of the free showes they was performing that day. CHECK SOME OF THE PICTURE IN FLICKR web page. [PICTURE 1] [PICTURE 2]. I think Al a great person. Thank you.

After words we started up to Silver Spring Maryland AFI Theater "American Film Institute" We started the movie with:

A DAY WITHOUT A MEXICAN
This scathing satire chronicles the social, political and economic crises that follow when every person of Hispanic descent (the "Mexicans") in the state of California mysteriously disappears for one day. In the style of a television exposé, we follow four characters, including the only Latina left behind, reporter Lila Rodriguez. Conspiracy and religious theories abound as the Golden State is thrown into a tailspin.

I enjoy the movie and learn more about the life of a Latino. I hope people can learn about this film and do what GOD what us to do. Love your naber as you life you self.

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE tells the story of the Hoovers, one of the most endearingly fractured families ever seen on motion picture screens. Together, the motley six-member family treks from Albuquerque to the Little Miss Sunshine pageant in Redondo Beach, California, to fulfill the deepest wish of 7-year-old Olive, an ordinary little girl with big dreams. Along the way the family must deal with crushed dreams, heartbreak and a broken-down VW bus, leading up to the surreal Little Miss Sunshine competition itself. On their travels through this bizarrely funny landscape, the Hoovers learn to trust and support each other along the path of life, no matter what the challenge.

Check this picture out at the AFI Theater [PICTURE 1] [PICTURE 2] [PICTURE 1] [PICTURE 1] [PICTURE 1] I hope you enjoy the pictures and BLOG.

After seeing this movie and telling Al and Amy thank you for the ride to the theater. I started my way back home to get ready for Sunday.

Special thanks goes out to Mark Butler for pitching a stellar game and holding them to only a few runs and also to David Mein, who sacrificed his body for the good of the team (hopefully he'll still want to play with us again)!!!

I have forgotten this place. I pass by this plane hundred of time. But I never thought about goting there. Metro also pass by the Northern Virginia Regional Park. There are alot of wonderful store and Grocery Store and take out and eat in chinese Restaurants. A Barns and Noble book store at Seven Corner Shopping Center.

Ballston Common Mall: Movie Theater, CVS, Chavy Chase Bank, Starbuck's, and more Around Ballston is Staples, Ihop's, Wachovia Corporation Bank, 7-11 store, Kinko's and also a Starbuck's.
. If anyone what to know a area they need to go to. I'll do my best in remembering were it is.
.
http://www.nvrpa.org/uptonhill.html

. This location is right beside the four mile run. This usto have a rail road track beside the run. This goes alway pass Resten Town Center. It has a horse walkway, a box car and many other stop's you can see along the way.
. During the civil war one of the bridge was blown up by the south. It to provent suppies to get to the south. Around the 90's they taken the base of the bridge in made it a bike trial.

NVRC: "The North Viginia Regional Commission" Said: The Four Mile Run Bike Trail is part of the greater W & OD (Washington & Old Dominion) Bike Trail extending from National Airport to nearly the West Virginia Border! The Four Mile Run trail parallels nearly the entire length of the stream, and these days is shared by bikers, walkers, joggers, and in-line roller skaters. The trail is enjoyed by folks of all ages and all walks of life, from white collar to blue collar to no collar. Among its in-line skating enthusiasts are John Turner (former Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) and Tipper Gore (the Vice President's wife). So, look alert out there... You never know who you may run in to!

They use to have to go down the hill and back up the hill on the other side of four mile run. Four mile run had alot of place that was running down. Becoming broken. Then the State of Virginia put in more money in there park lands and better place for people to go to. For Arlington, Fairfax, Fall Church even Washington, DC.

Even I have taken this bus line before to get on home when I was living in Arlington. You can go to http://www.wmata.com for more information and help with this map will get to you picnic ground. The bus stop is just out side the entrance.

See you at the picnic

You're Friend

Will

Holly Communion at First Baptist Church, Washington, DC

Today I miss my bus.. I taken the long way to church today to First Baptist. I was leasoning my cassette of Calvary Service for this year forgotten what day it was. Getting down to Dupont Circle Metro Station started walking down P St to 15th St to Whole Food market for something for Pot Luck at church. I when over to Starbuck's before I pick up something GOOD...

I should of gone there first. They had fresh fried cat fish, egg and cheese, bacan, fried potato's and more. They also sell coffee in front of the store and has a good amount of tables. They also had sushi and alot of good sandwich for sale as well. After haveing my starbucks and thinking about my church looking at both Ash Wedesday service pulpit's. Seeing the picture of Amy and some of the staff. And looking at my watch and see if I can get back to Calvary service on time. But I need to pay for my event's.

I never told anyone. But sometime when I go to First Baptist I feel a little guilty. How one person can love two church in his life. I saw how each on do what make there church that being a special part of the DC area. I saw the special thing each pastor that bring to the community.

  1. One A person bring a careing and understand with the church memeber and the community.
  2. Two A person bring a good story telling also the same as One.
  3. Three A person who says the prayers of the people and Lord’s prayer with so much though behind it as well One and Two.
  4. Four A person a Latino pastor with understanding with the Latino congregation with a cents of Family and bring the word of GOD to life with it chuch member as well as One to Three.

Each of this pastor bring so much gift to church. It a place for like more or you or any one who looking for a community of faith. And give there life to Jesus and pick up your cross.

Before we taken communion we wood say the church covenant together.

Today I saw what First Baptist Church Holly Communion was like. The Church Deacon and pass deacon help on Communion service this Sunday. They Started from the back of the Sanctuary side by side. They were 12 deacon walking up to the pulpit. And brought the bread of life down to congregation. Two to the left two to the midel and two to the right. They pass the tray and each of us taken the bread of life. When every body was service. The deacon walk to the back of the sanctuary back doors. They all 12 walk from the back midel door down to the pulpit to return the tray of the bread of life. Then the pastor servce the choir and deacon and the choir. They did the same with the grape juice in the communion cups. Debbie said. "I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever." Jim said "this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new covenant." I hope I type it wright. Each time we taken it first the bread of life then the grape juice each time.

After the service ended for the day. We'll walk down to the fellowship hall to have pot luck together. I meet a member of at First Baptist I haven't seen for two year at the Pentagon Computer store. We talk about the good old day's. I saw Paulo at church and he getting married in June... :) Why to go... You and soon to be wife will be happy together. My all your days bring you many blessing.

It was nice to see Jim and Mike and others.. Don't forget Al... After Pot Luck we started to make sandwitch for the homeless. We made over 500 pluss sandwitch. They haven't made this many sandwitch before. He, he, he, I think I had a good hand to helping in getting it way over 500 sandwitchs. First I put down the meat, Someone put the cheese on it, And last but not lease place the bread on top. After so many sandwitch they bring them to another table to get rap. Put back in the bread bag and place in the box. After all as been work on. All the sandwitch been put in the walk in Refrigerator to be taken by the people to feed the homeless. I enjoy the time together.

Walk with one of the memeber of First Baptist Church back to Dupont Circle Metro Station and gone home.

I'm looking forward in going back home to Calvary to choir. And to see all the people the wonderful people of Calvary from the pulpit. Enjoying to give my best in the church choir. Thank you for shairing the day with you.

Your Friend
